Talented entrepreneurs, passionate nonprofit leaders, and innovative organizations are doing incredible work—but they're not getting the press coverage or recognition they deserve. Not because their work isn't newsworthy, but because they don't know how to position it for media. I started Marie Forbes Media to bridge that gap by bringing insider newsroom knowledge to clients who need strategic PR, compelling storytelling, and the confidence to own their media moments.
Show up with confidence in high-stakes media moments
Secure press coverage for authority positioning
Sharpen their story so it cuts through the noise
I built my career inside a fast-paced New Orleans newsroom. I got my start as a camera operator in 2014 while a junior at Dillard University. I remember showing up to the station for an interview wearing black patent leather Gianni Bini heels, a houndstooth pencil skirt, and a black button-down top. The interview lasted no more than 30 minutes, but I vividly remember being asked if I was prepared to sleep on the floor during wall-to-wall hurricane coverage. Eager to jump in, I said yes.
For two years, I operated studio cameras before the company opted for a robotic camera system. In 2016, I was introduced to artificial intelligence and its impacts on the news industry. The hiring manager approached me about the changes and suggested I use my journalism background to pivot from production into news. He offered me a job as an evening associate producer.
I started as the "baby producer" who knew nothing about the makings of a good show. But I caught on fast. Every day meant shaping stories on deadline, booking high-profile guests, and directing interviews that reached thousands of viewers. Each day taught me how to identify stories that connect.
Now, I bring that same expertise to Marie Forbes Media, helping entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and organizations sharpen their story, secure press coverage, and show up with confidence.
